Prattville Service League
proudly serving the community since 1947
From the time I was a little girl, I hoped I could one day be a part of the Prattville Service League. My grandmother, Louise Newton, was a charter member in 1947. My other grandmother, Barbara Cannon, served as President in the 1960s. My mother was a member of the League as well. Now, I am thrilled and humbled to be serving as President. While over the years the faces have changed and the projects have changed (did you know they had synchronized swimming at the Labor Day BBQ in the earlier years?) , we are still, over 60 years later, working towards the same goal: to serve and support our community. I am looking forward to working with the new and returning members this year! What a wonderful opportunity we have to serve the citizens of Autauga County, and to get to do so with such an extraordinary group of women! I know that if we all work together, we can have a very successful year. We have many opportunities to serve this year, and I encourage each member to participate in as many projects as they can. The league has adopted the following service projects for the 2010-2011 year:
Prattville/Autauga Humane Society
Grace Place Pregnancy Center
Green Springs Assisted Living Facility
Smith Center
I want to thank all of the sustainers for making the league the fine organization it is today. We thank you for the foundation you left for us, and truly appreciate your continued support. We hope to see you at many of our events this year!
Thank you in advance for your dedication and hard work. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
